The global meta dictionary eases word lookup by providing a single search screen for a large range of online dictionaries. Simply enter a word into the input field and click the search button of the online dictionary of your choice - the dictionary will open in a new browser window displaying the translation. You will be able to look up the same word simultaniously in any dictionary so you won't have to reenter it in every single dictionary want to use. The global meta dictionary uses javascript.

The local meta dictionary is installed locally at podolak.net. Its advatage is that the different dictionaries can be searched in combination. Furthermore a search plugin can be added to the browser. The local meta dictionary is based on the database-driven PHP script phpMyLingvo.
