Following book shops have been checked in octobre 2012 for books on language as for instance on Russian and foreign language courses, Russian as a foreigner, dictionaries, everything between phonetics and text linguistics, translation theory etc. In this list I put additional details for translation scholars.

    Best shop for language, both in quality and quantity. Even better: antiquarian books of relevant Soviet classics among new books. The bookseller obviously knows the subject. Find it on the second floor, hall/зал 14.
    For translation studies refer to English section/секция 02, shelf/шкаф 14, case/полка 03 to 08 and furthermore one shelf case in the German section
  2. Dom knigi, main branch (rating: 4/5)
    Good selection on language. Go to the second floor. Translation studies have an own shelf close to the German section.
  3. Book shops (not public) at the Moscow State University, Faculty of Philology, ground floor (rating 3/5)

Check also the exhaustive Rudimimo State Library of Foreign Literature which has amongst others a linguistic department on the 2nd floor. Membership is free of charge.

Tyske fortidskategorier i tysk-russisk og russisk-tysk litteraturoversættelse

med særlig henblik på tysk perfektum og pluskvamperfektum

Synopsis

Formålet med denne undersøgelse er, at kontrastivt belyse specifikke fænomener og problemer i litterær oversættelse mellem tysk og russisk. Drejningspunktet ligger i de tyske indikative præteritums verbformer, med særlig henblik på perfektum og pluskvamperfektum.

Med hjælp af både russiske og tyske skønlitterære eksempler fremlægges sprogenes forskelle i at betegne handlinger i fortid med særlig henblik til det russiske aspekt-tempus system.

English abstract

This article deals on problems in translation of German to Russian fictional literature and vice versa. The main focus is on German indicative past tense forms of verbs, particularly with regard to perfect and pluperfect, and its respective Russian counterpart.

The differences between the German past tense and the Russian aspect-tense systems will be identified with examples from Russian and German originals and their translations.

The language industry has been less affected by the economic crisis than other sectors, according to a study carried out for the European Commission. The study, the first to analyse the size of the language industry EU-wide, covers translation, interpreting, localising and globalising, subtitling and dubbing, language technology tools, multilingual conference organisation and language teaching. It puts EU-wide turnover at EUR 8.4 billion (2008). This is set to increase by at least 10 % annually, over the next few years, to between EUR 16.5 billion and EUR 20 billion by 2015. Abstract

This article is written in Danish language. It deals on the Russian's contacts to the peoples of the Steppe and on how these interactions had influence on Russian culture, society and political system. The main focus is on the abstract subject of the antithesis between the steppe and the woods in its cultural and historical dimension, and on the specific issue of Russia under Mongol rule, its reception history and its contemporary estimation among historians.

Details

CyrAcademisator is a transliteration tool for Russian texts.

CyrAcademisator was made especially for academic use at universities and for research purposes. It makes possible a fast conversion of Russian texts to established scientific transliteration styles. A conversion back to Cyrillic is possible, as it is possible to convert from one transliteration to another. Old Church Slavonic and Old Russian characters are recognized and can be entered into the text field with a provided virtual Russian keyboard. Due to missing standardisations of some older characters in most of the transliteration styles, CyrAcademisator provides an individual report with information on possible misconversions and their reasons.
